Walking holidays in Montserrat

On the 29th of July Walking Catalonia tours organized and excursion toMontserrat. They visited St Joan hermitage, the church, and atrium ofMontserratand listen the young chorus singing a typical Catalan songs.

After that, they did a wine tasting course in “La Masiael Prat” and ate a typical Catalan lunch with cava and bread with tomato and Catalan sausages.

TREKKING A MACHU PICCHU POR SENDEROS SOLITARIOS

El pasado mes de Agosto Imma y yo nos fuimos a Perú y Bolivia a practicar senderismo y trekking. Uno de nuestros objetivos prioritarios era hacer un trekking a Machu Picchu por senderos solitarios, caminos poco transitados. Nos habían advertido que no resultaba fácil salirse de los tours organizados. Y , efectivamente, así es. En Cuzco , hay una agencia de viajes cada 10 metros y todas ofrecen prácticamente lo mismo. Una ruta por el Inka Trail que es un paquete organizado, en definitiva, una “turistada”. Después de estar un par de días dando vueltas por Cuzco ( aprovechando para aclimartarnos a la altura ) decidimos contratar , junto a una pareja belga , un guía profesional que nos llevara al Machu Picchu a través de las fenomenales ( aunque poco conocidas) ruinas de Choquequirao. Partimos de Cachora donde previamente contactamos con un cocinero y un mulero e iniciamos el trekking de 5 días a Machu Picchu.
En 2 días de trekking llegamos a Choquequirao descendiendo y ascendiendo el cañon del río Apurimac ( y bañandonos en el río ). !Qué gozada!. Tal y como habíamos previsto el camino está muy poco transitado, y eso que era a mitad de Agosto. Vistamos las ruinas de Choquequirao prácticamente en solitario.
Al día siguiente continuamos el trekking a Machu Picchu a través de Maizal, Yanama y Totora y Playa. En estos 3 días de trekking nos encontramos tan sólo a otros 2 grupos. Nada que ver con el super transitado camino del Inca.
Desde Playa nos trasladamos en “carro” a Aguas Calientes donde había un ambiente enorme y al día siguiente a primera hora ascendimos al Machu Picchu, que es realmente fantástico, especialmente cuando aún no hay muchos turistas.
La experiencia nos gustó tanto que hemos decidido organizar con el guía profesional que contratamos un Trekking a Choquequirao y Machu Picchu de acuerdo a nuestros requerimientos.
